Portland Home Gets some Staging Magic ~ Before & Afters

Most savvy sellers today realize that home staging can help a home’s presentation both in the online photos as well as for the in-person viewings.

Our company was recently selected to stage a home in Portland OR;  this home already had very nice furniture but many of the accessory items had been removed by the sellers in an effort to “declutter.”   The home had been on the market for a while and the feedback from the listing agent was that potential buyers found the home “cold”  (not in temperature, but in “feeling”).  Since up to 90% of today’s buyers are previewing the homes online that fit their criteria, the photos must really grab their attention and show the home’s architectural features as well as a good idea of the space in each room.

Here are some Before & After photos that show the dramatic difference that results from proper furniture placement, adding appropriate accessories, and having good photos …

   In the Before photo above — the dark sofa was colorless but we discovered a gorgeous white sofa underneath the sofa cover (a lucky find!).  The furniture arrangement needed to be more open .. and now the fireplace is the correct focal point for the room.  Adding color with accessories gave this room more personality & energy – important components in successful staging. 

In the “after” photos above, buyers can now see how the living room, dining area, and kitchen adjoin each other ….

The kitchen (shown above) just needed some colorful accessories added to show buyers a great place to entertain family & friends.  The photo below shows how the dining space adjoins the kitchen … important for buyers to see.
